HP Laserjet 1020 and Leopard
Upgraded my mother's computer to Leopard. All working. Except her Laserjet 1020 which mysteriously disappeared from her driver list. So, searched and searched and finally found this post: LINK. Don't understand why but if you look on the HP website, the only drivers they list for this printer are for Windows, far as I can tell. But via that link you'll find instructions and links to the site of someone who posted up earlier dmg files from their own site for download. Miracle of miracles, it worked.

Hey Joseph, after having to go through this again after rebuilding my laptop, I decided to just package the right files together and create a quick installer. This installer also enables the various printer options (print quality, paper, etc.)
Here it is: http://yogipatel.net/static/HP_Laserjet_1020_Leopard_Driver.dmg
Once installed, plug in the printer, go to Printer Setup, and select the printer from the list. The driver should be automatically detected as a "HP LaserJet 1020". I've tested it with all versions of Leopard on intel machines, and seems to work fairly well.
Yogi, thank you for the download link, that worked perfectly for setting up an HP 1020 over hear. Its a wonder HP doesn't have better support for Mac's on their website.
Yogi, I've installed the driver, turned on the Laserjet 1020, gone to System Preferences > Print & Fax, clicked on + to add a printer . I can see the printer on the default list but the driver doesn't appear to me and I can't find it.
How can I locate the driver? Isn't it installed?
